Excellent recording, and great to have: for once, Dick picked a real good one. OK, maybe he has a better track record than I just made out, but this show is truly excellent.

Nice audience copy!
Thanks! I was at this show, and I have a poor recording. This is better, but I best get the official cd. Great show!

2nd verse of Dark Star
They only do the 2nd verse of Dark Star here as they did the first verse a few nights earlier. I was at all of these shows and this was the best one of the run.

Better than I expected...
I probably never would have given this a listen had it not been for Dick (or rather David) picking it, but I was pleasantly surprised. For all of those people who rip on Vince, he does some pretty nice work on the keys here. Row Jimmy and Let it Grow stand out in the first set and All Along the Watchtower is hit out of the park in the second set out of a short, but interesting because they only sing the SECOND verse, Dark Star. The Casey Jones encore smokes and there really isn't a sub-par performance in the whole show. The sound is pretty good but not spectacular for a '92 aud.
Performance: 4.0 Sound: 3.25
Round up to 4 stars for the pleasant surprise.

Dick's Picks 27
Okay, so what gives? Why does Rhino pull all the soundboards from being downloaded? So they can have more commercial releases.
Then why do they still allow the posting of audience shows of commercially released CD's? It's not very smart business.
Who is going to pay a primo price for a primo show if they can get it for free? That's right. No one.
Economics 101 was obviously not taken by the numbnuts who are in charge. It's a real simple concept; supply = demand. If your supply is free, there is no demand. DUH!!!
Anyway, as with all the shows that I've heard that have been commercially release, there is a reason they have been released. It's usually because they kick ass. DP 27 is no exception. Sweet ass show.
Download it, buy it from dead.net, stream it. Good, solid show. Peace and hang loose.
